Art & Design Collage
At several occasions I had mentioned the ever growing number of art and design works that reconsider, reflect and remix the monobloc plastic chair. The current line count in my respective XLS-file stands at 82 (sic). A few weeks ago we compiled some of these statements into a little collage that well illustrates the most different strands of this only recently emerged parallel mono universe. If anyone had doubts about the cultural significance of the humble chair, they may resolve looking at that huge compilation even if it is only a fraction of what exists.
Actually, there should be credits for every single of these works, but having repeatedly seen contents from functionalfate.org being ripped off by (online) writers, you please excuse me that I will go through that list step by step and post the works in greater detail with additional material and proper credits. As a start, coming up next is an interview with Tina Roeder, whose White Billion Chairs series also appears in the collage.
